Hello, 37 people here so far. Take a breath, roll shoulders, sit up straight, feet on the floor. So good to be together…feel the love.

Agenda Review (5)

No new additions

Fair Announcements   (10)

Jay: Keith Hershberger, former villager and now Far Side camp host, asked that no new Villagers should go to that campsite.

Beth: Workshop and Demo forms are online, first come first served, sign up soon. Must be in Beth’s possession by May 11, 2025. communityvillageworkshops@gmail.com Workshop forms are HERE: https://communityvillageocf.org/forms/  Scroll down…

Kim: Booth Coordinator function on Friday, 5-7pm at the East Blair Housing Coop. 4th and Adams St.

 Path Planning Update (Karla)

The proposed new entrance is now on the back burner, we can discuss as we go… Next Path Planning meeting on the 16th. Fair submitted a Capital Budget for the new entrance, just so it stayed on their radar. Nothing is presently scheduled.

 OCF Sound Committee Update (Tim)

No news – did not hear back from committee members I reached out to.

Work party Whiteboard (Kelsey and Kim)

A whiteboard will be onsite during work parties to help Villagers get work done that is needed. Council on duty will be listed, as well tasks to do like construction, waddles, etc, all should put on the board. Phone number of responsible person should also be listed.

Site Report – David (5)

Fair site looking good. Flood level reached 15ft. No fallen trees or other damage. Kitchen not operating till May 31st. Pre-pre-Fair onsite this weekend. Go to Warebarn, keep looking till you find people……

Grants Committee Update/discussion – Omo (10)

Diane and Omo only at met at Reality Kitchen, Michael was unable to attend. This committee is open to all to join in. They discussed maybe to do a skit about how you couldn’t buy a cane as an example. Artistic expression is part of the goal. Chaone maybe join committee. The OCF offer description is in February minutes, and at the bottom of this paragraph. Let’s Do Something! Omo has the date of the next meeting: Friday March 28 at 1:00 Reality Kitchen, come early for their great food. Diane: The project sent to Energy Park, Community Village, Craft Demonstrations, Archaeology, Sustainability, Spoken Word, and the Still Living Room and came from the Board. Jain: OCF would love to have proposals from all groups. Skeeter: have the skit bit be a dream of how it should be and then wake up to the sad reealioty.
So will that info from that meeting be available to those of us who work weekdays?

Here is the text of what we got from OCF regarding the new Grant item – “The Board will fund innovation in the educational programs that include Energy Park, Community Village, Craft Demonstrations, Archaeology, Sustainability, Spoken Word, and the Still Living Room. Each of these areas may submit a proposal for a project that would be educational, innovative and participatory, if possible. We would fund up to $5000 per year on one or more projects. The proposals must not add additional wristbands and must take place within the boundaries of each location. A committee of the board will meet yearly to review and recommend projects that meet these criteria for approval by the board. The proposals are due in September and grants will be approved in October. This program will start in 2025.”

Theme Brainstorm – (15)

Ideas listed will be in an online poll soon and you will be able to vote on as many as you want. The top 6 or so will be discussed at our next Village meeting, along with possible new ideas, and the chosen one may emerge or a new poll will do the choosing with final result in the May meeting.

Childcare Needed? – Kelsey (5)

Is there an interest in bringing back childcare to our upcoming in person meeting? Chrissy – yes. Fruit booth has no littles anymore. Just looking for is there a need. Reach out to Council liaison or Booth Coord if you need it/want it. April and May meetings will be at the Unitarian Church, Chambers and 13th, and we have to leave building by 9pm, no lingering, no kid care room. Work Party childcare is another issue we can look more into that. Next year is another thing. Might be able to watch kids in the hallway at UU. Little Village Sandbox is available during work parties usually. David is in his 4th childhood…

From the Chat:

Jacob Weinstein 7:22 PM

New Restaurant Vote maybe – ? (10)

Table for next month? Waiting until food committee to get back to us. Considering Psychedelic Thai. Another was interested but may not be considered. We will work with OCF to get in there, but we can’t dictate. Sue Theolass is on the committee and knows what we need.

One Fun Thing – show us your pet (5)

Chrissy’s kid. Karla’s rooster Russel. Erin’s has a camera to share her dog, but has a rabbit painting too. Jay’s kitty unnamed cat number 2 (also has #1). Omo has ukulele doll. Flora’s Violet doggie named Happiness. Emmanuel good doggie.  Brian’s stuffed Lion, a very old friend, one time Mom went bowling and lost it’s eyeball so Mom drew a winking eye on it. Sweet. Rowan has 5 cats somewhere, showed a piece of firewood. Lareina has Hippie the Hippo. Drew has a doggie. Alan’s Barkie rescued from a burning building. Arf.
